Tondo at Spoke Art in SF

Tondo Group Show at Spoke SF

Reception Saturday, 5/6/17, 6-9pm

Show runs 5/6/17 — 5/22/17

Facebook invite here.

Hey art pals! I have two pieces in this upcoming show at Spoke Art in San Francisco, CA. Spoke SF has challenged over 50 artists to create new works for this format driven show. Tondo is a Renaissance term for a circular work of art, either painting or sculpture, deriving from the Italian rotondo or round. Each artist was given only one stipulation — the work must be round, everything else is up to the artist. “Eye” chose to make a pair of Eyeballer eyes which can be purchased separately. Although I will not be attending the opening, I highly endorse this fun show!

From the CQ press release: Oakland artist John Casey is taking over the Cleophus Quealy tasting room on Monday, February 13th from 6-9pm with his cadre of complex characters, infused with dark magical surrealism. Enjoy some small bites from our food truck and a pint of our special SF Beer Week release of barrel-aged Cherry Red while taking in Casey’s custom multi-media work, specifically catered to our space. This will be your chance to get your hands on an exclusive SFBW collaborative tee, designed by Casey just for us!
