Monuments of the Psyche @ WOW x WOW

Monuments of the Psyche
Online Group Exhibition
November 8-29

WOW x WOW Gallery proudly presents Monuments of the Psyche, featuring 28 incredible international artists and consisting of over 30 original artworks.

As creative beings, the concepts we conceive, the images we envisage, the tales we tell and the imaginings we bring to life, all originate in a particular time and place. The convergence and synchronicity of our thoughts and feelings give rise to inspirations which compel us to document, develop and convey our ideas. Events of the mind are incredibly ephemeral and fleeting, but via the act of constructing tangible entities, those transient contemplations are not only preserved, but are given a unique life of their own, to be interpreted and mused over by those who will encounter them. Our creative offerings exist in the world in memory of those thoughts which have passed; they exist as ‘Monuments of the Psyche’.

All sales will be on a first come, first served basis. Purchases can be made through the website, either with a debit/credit card or via PayPal. In the unlikely event that you encounter any issues, please email us at sales@wowxwow.com and we will be happy to assist.

“Hands & Pants” is a collaborative art project by John Casey and a group of more than 180 of his artist pals and peers.

John drew hands and/or pants in his simple pen-and-ink style on 10 x 8 inch Bristol paper. Each invited artist was given the hands and/or pants and asked to complete the figure in any way the artist saw fit. John’s intent was to create a collective storyboard using the “Hands & Pants” motif as a common recognizable character engaged in a variety of manifestations. However, the returned collaborations have gone far beyond John’s expectations in sheer artistic variety, producing an extended family of unique, individual beings, a tribe of sorts, like Bay Area artists, all sharing a creative passion, yet each unique in that endeavor.

Artists this round include Aaron Petersen, Adam 5100, Aisha Ivery, Alex Rosmarin, Alex Sodari, Alison OK Frost, Alison Tharp, Althea James, Andreina Davila, Angela Simione, Ann Murphy, Anthony Hurd, Ari Schindler, Ashley Hinceman, Barbara Lüdde, Ben Belknap, Bill Dunlap, Bill Miller, Billy Sprague, Billy White, Brad Gray, Brett Durrett, Brian Caraway, Brian Serway, Brie Spielmann, Brigid Watson, Chikako Okada, Chris Granillo, Chris Leib, Chris Mark Burt, Conrad Crespin, Crystal Morey, Dan Nelson, Dara Lorenzo, Daryll Peirce, Dave Higgins, David Seiler, David Vieira, Deth P.
